Red face Nazi similarities in the architecure?

Adolf was an architectural student before he became a dictator.
Google him & look at his artwork.
Now take a look at any loading screen artwork in the game.
Notice the similarity ?
Huge monuments and tiny people.
It was reflected in his ideology...
the people didn't matter, the State was all important.

But now just look at that Hall of Monuments!
The 1930's style is unmistakable.
Plus the flared eagle wing style, the burning flames, the soaring heights...
all its missing is the Swastika banners hanging down around it !

I wonder if this has occurred to Arenanet ?
Am I the only one to notice this ?

I think you might be reading too much into this.

Either you are an arts major, or you actually have a fixation on the life of Hitler. It does not bode well.

All I see are tall buildings and that's it... They look like any other room I've seen before...

I agree with the post above. I think you are reading too deep into this...

They could have made the HoM very small and round like a shed or Igloo but then, it would not be very impressive, would it? HoM is suppose to be impressive and as usual, impressive in building terms often rime with its height, and very specific infrastructure...

Art Deco, maybe...and WW2 era Germany didn't invent that style.

OP is right. I did have a strange feeling when I saw the eagles on the EOTN tower alone with the whole "style" of the architecture... It felt.. Familiar. Like I've seen it before. I just couldn't put a finger on it till now...

Look, NO ONE IS SAYING ANET HAS TO DO ANYTHING WITH NAZIS. Still, there are some things to think about... This is interesting indeed.

Now let's ponder about the floating castle in Kryta (the Villany of Galrath thing).

Where does that come from? I think it has medieval traits, probably central Spain, 1650-ish...

Actually, go back to ancient times. Religions, states, and ideologies express their power with the motifs of grandeur in monuments, buildings, and architectural features. Maybe it all started when the primitive tribe would set up a cairn of large rocks to mark the center of their tribal life.

N's did not invent these motifs, merely tried to utilize mostly existing motifs. They were not very inventive. Communist societies did much the same sort of thing. Giant statues of Karl Marx, etc. And of course, then there is us ...

I think you have too much imagination.....did you ever get out of your faraway island ?

The global Norn architecture is scandinavian looking...norwigian I would say.

HoM according to me has -a bit- art deco similarity which has nothing to do at all with nazis. Hitler just poped up in that era & never influenced the global architecture from the 30's. (look at a/m photo)

And the eagles same they have been on Earth for centuries & it is the symbol of the USA......

Edit: If the devs read your post they must laugh till they have belly pain LOL
Just take a break, have a rest and forget it.....

You are 100% wrong dude and I really dont understand why you made such a comparison.

Of course this has occurred to A-Net, as a company get larger the original ideas the founders had in mind start to disappear, ultimately the founders will be so dissatisfied with the huge corporation that they will break off and begin a small corporation of their own, thus the circle of life progresses. Just look B-Net was once small, then it grew to the point where the founders couldn't be creative anymore so a group broke off and started A-Net, now when A-Net grows too big, a group will break off and start their own corporation, etc. till infinity.
Also, so what if Adolf was an architecture student before he became a dictator it doesn't mean anything. Nazi's weren't evil they just had to put the blame of a failing societal archetype on someone. Kind of like how the US imprisoned all of the US-Japanese when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Luckily Muslim's and people from Arab countries didn't get treated similarly after 9/11.

This is like the people who think Swastikas are Nazi symbols...
Hitler copied the swastika, not the other way around.

.../fail?

Um. No Nazi idolism here, sorry. Similarities are purely coincidental and probably derivative from a common source (i.e. one that is not symbolic of the Nazi idealism).

This isn't a discussion that deserves expanding on.
